READ THE GUIDE
This comparatively new initiative is an effort to identify and publicize place-based restoration and conservation programs that have led to tangible positive impacts for the climate, biodiversity, and local communities. It is an ongoing effort involving various subcontractors and grantees - working to first gather case studies, verify the peer-reviewed scientific data on positive results, and subsequently communicate these stories of hope. One of the greatest barriers to positive change is a pervasive sense of powerlessness and despair about our broken world and planet.. This initiative is designed to be a partial antidote to pessimism and doom, lifting up the stories of communities and groups from around the world that are taking risks and giving time to protect and restore forests, grasslands, wetlands, coastal ecosystems, soils, and urban green space. Some of the case studies developed to date have been adopted by a Rand Corporation and Imperial College initiative to develop global scenarios on what ecological restoration can deliver for our collective future.
